Understanding the Problem

Biolog needed a way to manage, add, and control permissions of their clients and customers in a functional dashboard.

Knowing the User

The user would be a variation of an admin user along with limited external (client) usage.

With a varying range of user needs, it was critical to establish each of those roles in a user flow and journey map to break down the needs for each user.

In order to better understand the potential users of the new dashboard, I needed to create personas. This process helps to establish user stories and real goals that each user would have when accessing the platform. The personas included goals, pain points, and severity ratings.

Product Vision & Solution

Main goals for the dashboard included

  • Data Organization

  • Minimal Clicks per Task

  • Simplicity of Use

Process

I worked on this project as the Lead Designer in charge of the UX/UI, leading creative workshops, advocating for the user needs, and presenting to the stakeholders for overall approval of the design. One of the main exercises, in the beginning, was running knowledge shares and workshops with the stakeholders. Through the collaborative nature of such exercises, I gained a better understanding of the need.

MVP

Analog would have multiple users with specific needs, goals, and objectives including

  • Super Admin (Full Control)

  • Admin Control (Limited Internal Control)

  • Client (Limited External Control)

Take Aways

Collaborative work environments that combine multiple aspects of the project (Designer, POs, Devs, QA) allowed for a stronger understanding to build the design.
